DSL Bonding is the ability to combine 2 or more ISP connections of the same type and speed and utilise them as a single connection to gain the benefit of increased bandwidth for both Internet downloads and uploads.
For example: 2 X 2Mbps ISP connections would provide 4Mbps of bandwidth thus doubling the speed of any large file transfers.

A Bonded DSL solution is a more cost effective alternative to expensive private leased lines and yet is able to offer just as much high bandwidth. DSL Bonding is particularly useful for business that frequently use applications such as VoIP and Video Conferencing that require high upload bandwidth.
X2’s Bonded DSL solution involves installing a high capacity load balancer at the ISP point and another of a smaller capacity at the organisation’s network infrastructure. Both load balancers are configured to route traffic down each of the ISP links and on to the ISP network and Internet. This creates a single virtual link which can be connected to the customer’s corporate firewall.
Bonded DSL also offers connection resilience if an ISP link fails to ensure a continuous and reliable connection to the Internet. A DSL Bonding solution is also beneficial to an organisations current broadband service where SDSL is not enabled.
Single Site Bonded upload and Load Balanced Download
ADSL technology provides Internet speeds which are asymmetrical. ADSL Max services provide download speeds of upto 8Mb/s and upload speeds of upto 832kb/s. Certain applications require faster uploads, such as online backup. This provides an efficient transport and the ability to backup 2,3 or 4+ times more data in the same timescale. Load balanced download provides the ability to maximise cost effective DSL circuits to provide maximum download speeds.
